AIRP 2355 Aerodynamics & Performance

Prerequisite(s): AIRP 1301  
This course provides basic knowledge of aerodynamics and its effects on aircraft performance. Topics include basic forces on aircraft, interactions of forces, free body diagrams, finite element analysis, and applications to real-world aerospace problems. By the end of the course, students will be able to 1) understand fundamental forces on an aircraft, 2) solve statics problems using provided information, 3) discuss aviation accidents related to structural and/or human failure, 4) predict failure methods of a simulated aircraft fuselage.
