AIRP 2311 Aviation Meteorology Cr. 3 Semester Credit Hours: 3 Class Hours Per Week: 3 Additional Laboratory or Activity Hours Per Week: 0 Course Level: Undergraduate
Prerequisite(s): AIRP 1300 This course is designed for students who want to understand the meteorological processes that affect aviation operations. Topics include the fundamental processes causing wind, cloud cover, precipitation, icing, turbulence, thunderstorms, other hazards, and low-visibility phenomena. By the end of this course students will be able to: 1) identify and understand the geophysical processes leading to weather conditions, 2) demonstrate knowledge growing spectrum of aviation weather data types and sources, 3) develop confidence in assessing observed and predicted atmospheric conditions.
