Business Administration-Marketing, M.B.A.

The M.B.A. program knowledge and skills necessary to lead and manage organizations effectively in a dynamic, global business environment by developing their ability to:

  • Analyze business operations and processes;
  • Evaluate environmental changes to develop strategic responses to opportunities and threats;
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in individual and team settings; and
  • Apply cross-functional knowledge to solve complex organizational challenges.

Degree Requirements for the Master of Business Administration

All M.B.A. candidates must meet the following requirements:

Satisfy all university requirements for a master’s degree as found in the section Master’s Degree Requirements  of this catalog.

Multiple Concentrations

Students may complete multiple concentrations on a single degree; however, courses applied to one graduate degree concentration may not be used to satisfy another concentration for that degree.

Student Expectations

MBA students are expected to:

  1. Be familiar with the mission and values of the program and to comply with the expectations of them outlined in this catalog, their new student orientation, and their course syllabi.
  2. Maintain high standards of academic honesty and ethical behavior as outlined on course syllabi each semester.
  3. Track their progress on their degree programs and contact their advisors promptly to resolve questions about their enrollment.
  4. Verify that they have the appropriate prerequisites for their courses each semester.
  5. Maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout the program and receive no more than two Cs in coursework applied to the degree program.
  6. Apply for graduation by the published deadline for the semester in which they will complete degree requirements.
  7. Ensure that the College of Business has current contact information for them at all times.

Degree requirements are summarized below. Electives should be taken as prerequisites are met.


Required Foundation Courses (6 hours, waivable)


Courses may be waived based on completion of applicable coursework with grades of B or better.

Academic Concentration: Marketing


6 semester hours composed of electives selected from the following approved list.

Foundation Courses - 6 hours
Core Requirements - 24 hours
Required Concentration - 6 hours
Total - 30 hours + foundation
