History, B.A. (Secondary Teacher Certification)

This degree requires 124 credit hours, including 43 hours of Core coursework.

Degree Requirements

All candidates must meet the following:

Fulfill all university requirements for a bachelor’s degree, as outlined in the Bachelor’s Degree Requirements section of this catalog.
Complete Core Curriculum Requirements for students entering college in Fall 1999 or later.
Satisfy Bachelor of Arts degree requirements:
- Lower Division: 3 semester hours of speech and fulfillment of the computer literacy/proficiency requirement (see note below).
- Foreign Language: 6 semester hours at the sophomore level in one foreign language.
  - Students with an approved foreign language test score from the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences may substitute 6 elective hours.
Complete all required courses for the degree plan (outlined below).

Note: Students who are core complete but did not take speech and computer literacy/proficiency as part of their core curriculum will be required to complete these courses to meet degree requirements.

Freshman Level Foreign Language: 6 semester hours in the same foreign language (Freshman I & II)
Sophomore Level Foreign Language: 6 semester hours in the same foreign language (Sophomore I & II)
HUMA/PHIL/ENGL/SPAN/GEOG: 6 semester hours lower- or upper-division courses*

*May not use courses that satisfy core curriculum or BA general program requirements.
