Texas A&M University-Victoria does not automatically confer degrees upon completion of academic requirements. To be officially considered for a degree, students must submit a graduation application through their self-service portal (see Degree Progress/Graduation for information). A graduation application must be submitted whether or not students plan to attend the commencement ceremony.
Students are eligible to apply for graduation once they have completed-or are currently enrolled in-the final courses required for their degree. Applications may be submitted during the semester prior to, or the semester in which, the student expects to graduate. For important dates and deadlines, consult the Academic Calendar .
Graduation applications that are denied are not carried forward. Students must submit a new application if their previous application was denied.
Degrees are conferred at the end of the regular session, not earlier, even for students completing coursework in shorter sessions (e.g., 8-Week sessions). Degrees will be posted in the semester during which all coursework for the degree is completed. For example, if you are approved to graduate in Spring 2026, all degree requirements must be completed within the Spring 2026 term.
Diplomas are ordered approximately 4-6 weeks after final grades are posted.
