Mission: The Educational Technology program prepares students for positions and leadership roles as technology specialist, and instructional designers in higher education, corporate settings as well as in public and private schools and human services. The emphasis of this program is to develop professional technology leaders employed in educational and corporate settings with the skills and knowledge to train and educate others and to evaluate and incorporate educational technologies.
Program Options:
This 30-hour program offers 3 tracks with all courses on-line: Masters in EDUC (Curriculum and Instruction), Masters in EDUC with Business; Masters in EDUC with Adult and Higher Education.
Candidates must pass a comprehensive examination on the content of one course from their plan advisor, another from the core and one from a supporting area. Candidates are eligible to take the comprehensive exam either the semester before or during the semester they intend to graduate. Candidates who fail one part of the exam may retake the exam within the same semester in which it was first attempted. Candidates who fail more than one part of the comprehensive examination must wait until the next semester before they may re-take the examination. A subsequent failure will result in required remedial work and may delay graduation. After three failures, candidates will be withdrawn from the program and, therefore, be deemed ineligible for graduation.
