Admission to a Graduate Certification Program
For applicants, with GPA’s below 3.0, seeking certifications in a class other than classroom teacher the following scores must be achieved:
GRE® scores in the following ranges:
- GRE® Verbal Reasoning - 143 or greater
- GRE® Quantitative Reasoning - 140 or greater
- GRE® Analytical Writing - 3.0 or greater
The applicant MUST also meet the UHV admissions index.
Degree Requirements
- Hold a valid Texas teacher certificate.
- Master’ degree. (see Master of Education - Special Education )
- A minimum of two years teaching experience in an accredited school.
- Admission to graduate study within the College of Education & Health Professions must precede the completion of applicable course work.
- Completion of at least 39 semester hours of approved courses related to the program for educational diagnostician.
- Pass the TExES #153.
