Preamble: The Strategic MBA is a 36-hour MBA program with curriculum emphasis on leadership and strategic decision making.
Mission: The mission of the Strategic MBA program is to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage organizations in a dynamic environment by offering an integrated curriculum that blends theoretical concepts with practical applications.
Strategic MBA graduates will be able to:
- Analyze business operations and processes;
- Analyze changes in the business environment to develop strategies that respond to emerging opportunities and threats;
- Apply leadership skills to work effectively with individuals and teams in organizational situations; and
- Apply cross-functional approaches to organizational issues.

Degree Requirements
The following courses are required for attaining the Master of Business Administration degree. Courses are listed in the recommended completion order.
Required Foundation Course (3 hours)
Required Core Courses (27 hours)
Required Academic Concentration (6 hours)
Choose one of the following:
Accounting:
This concentration requires completion of::
- ACCT 6371 Advanced Auditing
- One additional graduate Accounting (ACCT) elective.
For students coming from non-accounting undergraduate programs, additional undergraduate prerequisites may be required for enrollment in the concentration courses.
Entrepreneurship:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate Entrepreneurship electives selected from:
Economic Development:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate Economic Development electives selected from:
Finance:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate finance (FINC) elective.
General Business:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate electives selected from Accounting (ACCT), Business (BUSI), Economic Development (EDEN), Economics (ECON), Entrepreneurship (EDEN), FInance (FINC), Management (MGMT), or Marketing (MKTG) course offerings.
Human Resources Management:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate Human Resource electives selected from:
International Business:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate electives selected from:
Management:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate Management (MGMT) electives.
Marketing:
This concentration requires completion of two graduate Marketing (MKTG) electives.
Required Free Elective (3 hours)
This program requires completion of one free elective selected from Accounting (ACCT), Business (BUSI), Economic Development (EDEN), Economics (ECON), Entrepreneurship (EDEN), Finance (FINC), Management (MGMT), or Marketing (MKTG) course offerings. Students completing the Accounting concentration MUST select an Accounting (ACCT) elective to satisfy this free elective requirement.

Total 36 hours (plus foundation)
*Students who do not have sufficient background in Statistics/Analytics will be required to take QMSC 6351 as a foundation course.
